They cost between 350 and 600 euros and offer a lot of performance for the money: the experts of CHIP Foto-Video have compared six single-level models from Canon, Nikon and Sony together.

A new digital SLR (DSLR - English for digital single-lens reflex) it should be, but it should not cost much. With this requirement go every week hundreds of people in the electronics markets and photo specialty stores. Or ask a friend. Now you might say: Actually, the case is quite simple. Anyone who has been photographed with a compact camera that runs better than before with any SLR. So you might as well take the cheapest camera. On the other hand, is in the best camera with high security technology of yesterday: Both the sensor and the image processor as well as the display are no longer on the cutting edge of technology. Large differences

This is not too easy, but there might be an answer. In short, the digital SLR's are over $700, the manual zoom digicams are about the same price and not much smaller but have less depth of field control. They're often slower also, but have longer range lenses.
The only really fast smaller cameras I've found were the Ricoh Caplio and some Sony's, most smaller digital cameras seemd to have bad "shutter lag" delay between pressing the button and the shutter actually firing.
I am a wedding and event photographer, I use a $2000 Canon SLR but I'm looking for a cheap pocket camera and I haven't found what I'm looking for yet
